To reform

This article is about Biden and his school loan forgiveness.  While the forgiveness program seems like a useful alternative to all the rejection high-scoring students experience while looking for jobs related to their degrees, it's also creating a negative burden on the economy and begging citizens not to support the program.  It's the opposite of what the school loan program was created for - to allow all levels of income to attend college and then achieve gainful employment.

 A more effective forgiveness program for those who can't find work after graduation would start with a requirement for schools to assist in the job-finding process after graduation.  This would include some sort of monitoring of the program that puts accountancy on the schools and allows students who comply with a set of standards to eligibility for a tuition forgiveness program.  The program may include some elements that allow regulators to easily determine if students, institutions, and companies are going through the steps honestly versus trying to fool the system.  Elements of the program include enhanced career center services at universities that make it almost impossible for students to avoid employment, a continuation of services after graduation, and employer-plus-students or alumni mentoring to enhance employee-plus-employer relations.  Further, colleges and universities will need to integrate common certification or licensure requirements into their major's main curriculum.
